Nolan Henke Dassel MN Car Accident, Elijah Miller of Cokato Critically Injured in Meeker County

passenger died in a crash reported in the overnight hours Sunday in Meeker County . According to a news release issued Monday morning by the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Nolan Henke, 19, of Dassel, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Elijah Miller, 19, of Cokato, is identified as the driver of the vehicle. He was airlifted from the scene in “critical condition with possible life-threatening injuries,” according to the sheriff’s office. Miller was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis for treatment. The crash was first reported around 3:05 a.m.

Sunday at the intersection of Meeker County Road 6 and 746th Avenue in Collinwood Township, southeast of Dassel. Preliminary investigation showed the vehicle at the scene was driving westbound on County Road 6 when it lost control and left the roadway, striking a telephone pole on its passenger side. Miller and Henke both had to be extricated from the vehicle by first responders.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Dassel Fire and Rescue, Cokato Fire and Rescue, Cokato Ambulance, Mayo Ambulance and LifeLink all assisted the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office at the scene. The crash remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
