The Memphis Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Thursday morning in North Memphis, leaving one man dead and prompting a citywide call for information.
According to MPD, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:27 a.m. to reports of gunfire on Eldridge Avenue. When they arrived, they discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite officers’ efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of family.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect fled the scene shortly after the shooting. Witnesses described the suspect as wearing a red hoodie and tan pants at the time of the incident. Police are urging anyone who may have seen the suspect in the area or has information about his whereabouts to come forward.
