Timothy Marques Motorcycle Accident; Sherman Oaks Resident Passes Away Following Tragic Accident
A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with another vehicle in Sherman Oaks Sunday night, authorities said. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the motorcyclist as 41-year-old Timothy Marques.
Marques’ city of residence was not available.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Marques was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Ventura Boulevard in the far-left lane around 8:55 p.m. when he collided with a vehicle making a left turn westbound from Greenfield Avenue. Tragically, Marques died at the scene.
No information was available about the vehicle’s driver. The investigation is underway.
“Motorcycle riders are arguably the most vulnerable motorists on the roadways, given the fact that there are no airbags or sturdy windows to protect them from an impact,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.
In 2017, 5,172 motorcyclists died in motorcycle crashes, down from 5,337 in 2016, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
