It is with profound sorrow that we report the tragic passing of Shamar T. Smith, a 25-year-old resident of Tullahoma, Tennessee, who died on Friday, February 25, 2022. Shamar’s untimely death has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home, followed by burial at Concord Cemetery.

In a separate and unrelated incident, the New Orleans community mourns the loss of two 17-year-old students from West Jefferson High School, Giselle Smith and Semaj Morris. On December 11, 2024, while traveling in a Toyota Camry, they were tragically killed in a collision with a vehicle driven by suspected shoplifter Joneaka Smooth. Giselle’s 21-year-old sister, Paris Kiper, was also in the car and sustained critical injuries .
The crash occurred after Smooth, fleeing from a shoplifting incident, drove erratically and collided with the victims’ vehicle. Smooth fled the scene but later surrendered to authorities and faces multiple charges, including manslaughter and hit-and-run.
