Edward Fernandez Obituary-Death News; Edward Fernandez Passes Away In A Fatal New Haven Car Crash
Edward Fernandez, 50, was identified as the man who died after being hit by a vehicle while using his wheelchair early Saturday morning on Dixwell Avenue in New Haven, Connecticut.
According to local police, the incident happened around 3:40 a.m. as Fernandez traveled southbound in the roadway near Charles Street. A motorist driving in the same direction struck him in the 100 block of Dixwell Avenue.
Emergency responders found Fernandez injured at the scene and transported him to Yale New Haven Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead.
The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The New Haven Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit is handling the ongoing investigation.
