Born on October 20, 1983, in Houston, Texas, Thomas was the beloved son of Debbie and John Fincher. He spent his formative years in Austin, where his natural leadership, warmth, and intelligence began to shine.
He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 2002 before attending Texas Christian University in Fort Worth—a place that would shape his future in profound ways.
At TCU, Thomas earned a degree in Business with an Emphasis in Leadership and joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, where he formed lifelong friendships and built a foundation of brotherhood and camaraderie that endured throughout his life.
It was at TCU that Thomas met Laura Kay Friesen of Lufkin, Texas—the woman who would become his greatest love, his partner in life, and his best friend. They married on August 17, 2013, at the Hotel Del Coronado in California, surrounded by family and friends.
Their marriage was rooted in faith, laughter, and shared passions especially their love of Horned Frog sports. Together, they built a joyful and loving home, full of warmth, commitment, and adventure.
Thomas was a devoted father to his two sons, Gibson and Walter, who were the absolute light of his life. He embraced fatherhood with full-hearted joy, always present, always encouraging.
Whether coaching a game, exploring nature, casting a fishing line, or teeing off on the golf course, Thomas relished every moment spent with his boys. He was the kind of dad who led with quiet strength, endless patience, and deep love.
Professionally, Thomas’s career reflected his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence. He served as Advance for the Governor of Texas’ campaign, co-founded the well-known TCU fan blog Spit Blood TCU, and launched Wash ‘N Run in Austin with his twin brother, Emory.
For the past 12 years, Thomas worked in the oil and gas industry in Fort Worth, where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues for his leadership, reliability, and honesty.
Beyond his accomplishments, Thomas will be remembered for his quiet but unwavering faith, which guided every part of his life. His gentle spirit, generous heart, and sincere love for others left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
