Bryce Howell Obituary-Death News; Colquitt EMC Lineman Bryce Howell Passed Away at Age 26

The community of Adel, Georgia, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Bryce Howell, who passed away on June 20, 2025, in Tifton at the age of 26. Bryce was born on February 12, 1999, in Adel and spent his entire life in Cook County, where he was known for his warmth, strong work ethic, and the joy he brought into every room.

Bryce was a lineman for Colquitt EMC, a position that suited his courageous and dependable nature. He took pride in his work, knowing that he was helping to keep the lights on for families across South Georgia. Whether in stormy weather or sweltering heat, Bryce never hesitated to step up and do his part to serve the community he loved.

Above all else, Bryce was a devoted son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend. He is survived by his loving parents, John and Theba Lattin Howell of Nashville, Georgia, who raised him to be a man of integrity and compassion.

He was a beloved brother to Brittany (Sam) Young of Moultrie and Nick (India) Jordan of Lenox. He adored his nephews, Hendrix Jordan and Jordan Young, and was always present for birthdays, ball games, and family milestones.

Bryce shared a deep and special bond with his girlfriend, Emily Sumner of Adel, who was his partner, best friend, and greatest supporter. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams.

He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family: his uncle Sam Howell of Adel; aunts and uncles Merlin and Royce Payne of Nashville, Lyrae and Donnie Berry of Hahira, Jerry and Kathy Lattin of Hahira, and Jessica and Jason Knowles of Sparks. Each of them held a special place in Bryce’s life, and he in theirs.

Bryce had a close-knit circle of friends—Blake Joiner, Kyle Craven, Sean Barker, and Dylan Brady—who were more like brothers than buddies. They shared years of memories, from fishing trips to football games, and supported one another through every chapter of life.

The extended SumnerWood, and Faircloth families, including Danny and Shannon SumnerGage SumnerAngie and Damon Wood, and Teri and Brandon Faircloth with Lainey Faircloth, also considered Bryce one of their own. His gentle spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Bryce’s passing is a profound loss not only to his family and friends but also to the wider Cook County community. He will be remembered for his loyal nature, generous heart, and the many ways he made life brighter for others. Whether he was sharing a laugh, lending a hand, or simply showing up when it mattered, Bryce made a difference.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home in Adel, with Mr. Tracey Webb providing the eulogy. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home (1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel) prior to the service.

In honoring Bryce’s life, let us remember the laughter he shared, the love he gave so freely, and the strength with which he lived each day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
