In 2018, Julie brought the national KNOW Women movement to Florida, launching the first KNOW Tampa Book—an innovative platform celebrating high-achieving women across industries. What began as a passion project quickly grew into a powerful network of over 400 like-minded businesswomen throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Julie’s leadership helped foster a space where women could support one another, lift each other up, and celebrate each other’s accomplishments. Her impact on female entrepreneurship in the region was undeniable, and she will be remembered as a driving force in the empowerment of women.
As the world shifted in the wake of the pandemic, so did Julie’s mission. In 2021, she founded Wee Macree, a heartfelt and purpose-driven company focused on raising awareness around global issues affecting children.
Julie combined her creative spirit with her advocacy work by designing mission-based apparel. Each t-shirt sold through Wee Macree contributed 40% of its proceeds to the nonprofit it represented, turning everyday fashion into a powerful tool for social good. Through Wee Macree, Julie inspired parents, kids, and community members alike to get involved in causes that matter.
Julie’s community involvement extended far beyond her businesses. She served on various nonprofit boards and committees throughout the Tampa Bay area, always eager to use her voice and skills to make a difference.
Whether fundraising for child welfare initiatives, helping to amplify community resources, or supporting fellow mothers in need, Julie led with grace, empathy, and an unshakeable commitment to service.
In addition to her entrepreneurial and philanthropic work, Julie was a gifted writer and storyteller. She was a regular contributor to Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine, where she shined a light on local mothers, inspiring children, and unsung heroes making a difference. Through her monthly columns, she brought warmth, inspiration, and a sense of togetherness to families across the region.
Julie Tingley’s legacy is one of empowerment, compassion, and fierce love—for her family, her community, and the world. She was a guiding light for so many, offering encouragement and hope even in the most uncertain times. Her ability to bring people together, inspire change, and lead with authenticity made her a truly remarkable human being.
She is survived by her husband, two beautiful daughters, extended family, and an entire community that will forever cherish her memory. As her loved ones navigate this profound loss, they are comforted by the lasting impact Julie has had on the lives she touched and the causes she championed.
