Dr. Joshua B. Alinger, MD, PhD, was a dedicated emergency medicine physician whose career, though brief, left a significant impact on the medical community in Chicago, Illinois.
Born with an innate curiosity and a passion for science, Dr. Alinger pursued his undergraduate studies at Oregon State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.
His academic journey continued at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he achieved both a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
During his time at Washington University, Dr. Alinger served as a Graduate Researcher from June 2015 to August 2019, contributing to advancements in medical science.
Prior to this, he was a Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health from June 2012 to April 2014, where he was involved in critical research initiatives.
In June 2022, Dr. Alinger joined Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago as an emergency medicine physician. In this role, he was known for his quick decision-making skills, compassionate patient care, and ability to handle high-pressure situations inherent in emergency medical settings.
