Austin Pitts, an 18-year-old student from Homer High School, tragically lost his life in a car accident on Monday, May 5, 2025, in Hillsdale County, Michigan.
The accident occurred when a 16-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle while traveling east on Genesee Road near Bunn Road. The vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree stump, leaving Austin with life-threatening injuries.
Austin was described by those who knew him as a kind, loving young man who always carried a positive attitude, no matter the challenges he faced. His strength and resilience made a lasting impact on everyone around him, as he continuously offered his help and kind words to others.
“Austin was truly a beacon of light,” said a close family member. “He always made us smile and inspired us to be better every day. He will be missed more than words can express.”
