Charles Levine Obituary-Death News; Fatal Crash Claims Life of Former Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Charles Levine
According to Louisiana State Police, the fatal collision occurred when Levine, driving a 2012 Ford F-150, was heading west on LA 338. At the same time, a 2019 GMC Sierra was traveling eastbound.
For reasons still under investigation, Levine’s truck reportedly crossed the centerline while navigating a right curve and entered the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with the GMC.
The impact caused Levine’s Ford to become fully engulfed in flames. Despite efforts from first responders, Levine was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
Authorities stated that routine toxicology samples were collected from both drivers as part of the ongoing investigation. Final results are pending analysis.
The sudden loss of Levine, who previously served the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office with dedication, has deeply saddened his family, former colleagues, and the community. Tributes have begun to circulate, recognizing his years of service and the impact he had during his career in law enforcement.
