James Brendan O’Shields Obituary-Death News; James Brendan O’Shields Passes Away In A Fatal Laurens Hit-And-Run Crash

James Brendan O’Shields, 50, lost his life after being struck by two vehicles in a hit-and-run incident in Laurens, South Carolina. The fatal crash occurred late Saturday night, June 7, 2025, near the intersection of Fleming Street and Garlington Street, shortly after 11:10 p.m.

Authorities from the Laurens Police Department responded to the scene and confirmed that both vehicles involved fled the area after hitting the pedestrian. O’Shields was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Laurens Police Department and Laurens County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the case. They are asking anyone with information to contact the department’s tip line at (864) 984‑3532.
