A 39-year-old man has died following a shooting Sunday night in Little Rock, according to authorities. The victim, identified as Lee Battles of Benton, Arkansas, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in a lot across the street from the 9000 block of Auxor Road.

Officers with the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) responded to the area around 9 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Battles wounded and lying outdoors.

He was transported to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts by medical personnel, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The Pulaski County Coroner’s Office later arranged for his body to be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
