Tom Berg Obituary-Death News; Owner And Chief Brewing Officer Of Northeast Minneapolis’ Falling Knife Brewing Company Passes Away Unexpectedly

A popular Minneapolis brewery is mourning after its owner and chief brewing officer unexpectedly died over the weekend.

Falling Knife Brewing Company posted on social media that Tom Berg died over the weekend in his home. The brewery closed its doors Monday to “grieve this monumental loss” and said a more extensive gathering is being planned.

 

Berg was a big supporter of the local music scene and the Minnesota Timberwolves, bringing both passions into the taproom with live music and Wolves watch parties.

“We are devastated to lose our dear friend, the visionary architect of what Falling Knife brews, and a guiding force in what we are and do,” read the post. “There was nobody more passionate about Falling Knife, beer, and his friends.”

Falling Knife has been located in Minneapolis’ Northeast neighborhood since late 2018 and services hundreds of local bars, restaurants and liquor stores. The brewery says they’re in contact with Berg’s family about a larger gathering and will be releasing that information at a later time.
